Date: Saturday, April 8th - 14:00 UTC
See the brackets in Challonge!
This year's championship will be streamed on the official BAR Twitch channel, with our beloved hosts Tarnished Knight and Teifion returning to the casting seats. There's a twist, however!
The winner of last year's edition, the one and only Raghna, will be joining them to provide a professional perspective to the commentary! The stream link will show up here on the day of the event. There will be some more unofficial casters covering the event, we will link them all below.
In this edition we are going to shake things up a little bit with the format. We learned from the last two editions that double elimination tends to excessively prolong the duration of the event, which can be particularly challenging for the Asian/Australian player base to sit through the entire tournament. Hence, this year's edition will employ a hopefully more time-efficient format.
It is going to be split into a group stage from which the best 16 players out of 64 will emerge and face off in a knockout stage.
16 Groups of 4 players - Round Robin - Bo1 - only 1 player advances
Maps:
Tiebreakers: Players who are tied for points at the end of each group phase will need to play a Bo1 to decide who goes through. In the (hopefully) uncommon circumstance that 3 players are tied, the player with the lowest openskill rating will be eliminated and the remaining 2 players will play a Bo1.
16 players - Single Elimination
Eighth finals (Bo3):
